Expo Urbano is a tradeshow and conference focused on the aesthetics, comfort, security and well-being in urban spaces in Brazil. The event focuses on public outdoor spaces including streets, squares, parks, gardens, playgrounds, sports facilities, beaches, recreational areas and parking facilities.

Expo Urbano will be organized in conjunction with several other infrastructure development events. All these events (urban transportation, parking and public playing fields) share a common interest in urban issues, transforming this event into the most complete industry happening for municipalities and other professionals.

Market description and investments

Brazil has around 5,500 cities and towns; 250 cities have more than 100,000 inhabitants.  In these areas, the majority of people live in apartments with little or no private outdoor space. The combination of Brazil’s social culture and predominantly tropical climate means that life in Brazil takes place outside: on the streets, in parks and squares and on the beach!

In recent years a rapidly growing population, continued economic growth and a staggering increase in the number of cars have raised the need for investments in solutions to manage issues of security, public order and waste management in urban areas. With the world’s eyes on Brazil in anticipation of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, local authorities have important deadlines to meet and an economic incentive to do so.
